Keep only what matters
A business card has one job: help someone remember you and contact you. Include your name, role, business name, phone, email and website. Add an address only if customers visit you. Leave space — a crowded card looks cheap.
Make the text readable
Keep names around 10–12 pt and contact details no smaller than 7–8 pt. Avoid thin script fonts for important details, and make sure text colour contrasts clearly with the background.
Set the file up correctly
- Standard size: 3.5 × 2 inches (89 × 51 mm).
- Add 3 mm bleed on every side if your design runs to the edge.
- Keep text at least 3 mm inside the trim line.
- Use CMYK colour and 300 DPI images.
- Export as a print-ready PDF with fonts embedded.
Getting this right avoids white edges, cut-off text and dull colours.
Choose the right paper
Card thickness is the first thing people feel. 350 GSM is a solid standard; heavier or textured stocks feel premium. Thin paper undermines even a great design.
Pick a finish that matches your brand
- Matte lamination — clean, modern and easy to write on.
- Gloss lamination — vibrant colours, shiny surface.
- Soft-touch — velvety feel that people remember.
- Gold or silver foil — premium highlight for logos or names.
- Embossing or spot UV — adds texture and depth.
Use the back side
The back is valuable space: a QR code to your website or WhatsApp, your services, or simply your logo on a brand colour. Keep it simple and purposeful.
Always check a proof
Check spelling, phone numbers and email addresses carefully before printing — a single wrong digit means reprinting the whole batch. We send a proof for approval on every order.
